This project involves the LORIA and IJL laboratories.

LORIA - Biscuit (Université de Lorraine, CentraleSupélec) - Project leader

Website: https://biscuit.loria.fr

The Biscuit team is affiliated with CNRS, University of Lorraine (UL) and CentraleSupélec. Bernard Girau (Professor UL) is head of the team. He is also member of the organizing committee of the BioComp group of research of the CNRS. Hervé Frezza-Buet and Jérémy Fix belong to this team. One of the topics of research of the Biscuit team relates to computational neurosciences and cellular computing. More precisely, the goal is to study the properties and computational capacities that emerge from unconventional computing architectures for the design or control of persistent autonomous systems that interact with complex dynamic environments.

IJL - Measurements and Electronic Architectures team (Université de Lorraine)

Website: https://ijl.univ-lorraine.fr/en/research-groups/measurement-and-electronic-architectures-group

The MAE (406) team is affiliated with CNRS (UMR7198) and University of Lorraine (UL). Slavisa Jovanovic (Associate Professor UL) is the member of the MAE team and the project coordinator of the IJL’s team, in which Hassan Rabah (Professor UL) and Serge Weber (Professor UL) will be also involved. One part of the research actvities of the MAE team is related to the hardware implemementations of neural and neuromorphic circuits and systems. Different neural networks models are considered among others SOM-based algorithms, CNN-based (1D, 2D), Transformers, … The research focus of the team is also on unconventional computing paradigms using traditional CMOS and emergent technologies.
